We all know how harmful fast fashion is. Trendy and cheap items are produced much too quickly, leading to environmental degradation, labor exploitation, and social injustice. Of course we understand not everyone can be free of fast fashion, but we prioritize ethical practices in our production in hopes to offer slow fashion products without breaking the bank. Your purchase also directly allows me to not only hire local creatives, but pay them a living wage.

I strongly believe that jewelry should be a reflection of one's personal style and not just the cheap embodiment of a fleeting trend. We love that our customers are eclectic, independent-minded people who prioritize creativity and authenticity in their everyday lives - that's why our mission is to create original and distinctive pieces that can make them feel inspired and empowered.

While Odin Sleeps began in 2011 in Lauren's tiny San Francisco apartment as a creative outlet and a path toward financial independence. What started as a small DIY project has grown into something much larger through years of perseverance, creativity, and hard work.

Along the way, we've faced plenty of challenges, mistakes, and setbacks, often learning through experience. That resilience became a defining part of the WOS's ethos. Today, While Odin Sleeps takes pride in adapting quickly, continuously refining its craft, and approaching every challenge as an opportunity to improve. That mindset has helped shape a business built on independence, integrity, and a genuine passion for creating meaningful work.

After meeting the love of her life, Lauren moved to North Carolina in 2016. Surrounded by the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, While Odin Sleeps was able to put down roots, flourish, and even weather the challenges of a global pandemic.

For years, the business operated out of cramped workspaces and borrowed spaces. But after years of steady growth, that finally changed. In recent years, While Odin Sleeps found a permanent studio space with room for the team, materials, and the creative freedom to continue growing. What was once a distant dream has become the home where the next chapter of WOS is being built.
